Kids In Parks : Our Staff

Charlotte HillCharlotte Hill
Charlotte is a Kids in Parks co-director and core teacher. She completed San Francisco Rec and Parks Naturalist Training Program, is a core staff member in Community Gardens for Butterflies, and was appointed by the San Francisco Board of Supervisors to the Natural Areas Program Citizens Advisory Committee.

Jeffrey BrownJeffrey Brown
Jeff is a Kids in Parks co-director, core teacher, and licensed landscape architect. He has worked with various public interest organizations including the San Francisco Department of Public Works, the San Francisco Arts Commission, the California Conservation Corps, the San Francisco Conservation Corps, Luggage Store gallery/Cohen Alley/Tenderloin National Forest and Friends of Islais Creek.

Alan HopkinsAlan Hopkins
An avid birdwatcher for more than 30 years, Alan is a Kids in Parks core teacher. He is also founder of Save the Quail, co-founder of the San Francisco Christmas Bird Count, and former president of the Golden Gate Audubon Society. He is currently Shipyard Trust for the Arts naturalist-in-residence at Hunter Point Shipyard and performs wildlife monitoring for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) on the Cordell Bank Marine Sanctuary.

Christina VargasChristina Vargas, Assistant Core Teacher
After her 2009 graduation from Downtown High School, where she completed the Wilderness Arts and Literacy Collaborative (WALC) program, Christina (shown at right with her daughter) spent two years working for Literacy for Environmental Justice (LEJ) as a Habitat Restoration Technician. She then worked with the San Francisco Recreation and Parks Department in its Youth Stewardship Program before joining Kids in Parks as an intern. For the 2014 – 2015 year, Christina's outstanding skill and talent earned her a promotion to Assistant Core Teacher.

Naila CanulNaila Canul, Intern
Naila graduated from Downtown High School in 2014. As a student at Downtown, she participated in the WALC program. She then completed an internship at Herons Head Park, where she worked in landscape management and led tours of the EcoCenter.

Zhi Long (Tony) HuangZhi Long (Tony) Huang, Intern
Fluent in Mandarin and English, Tony (shown at right with his teacher) is another 2014 graduate and WALC participant from Downtown High School. Before joining Kids in Parks, Tony completed a habitat restoration internship with the San Francisco Recreation and Parks Department.

Jocelyn (Jossi) Roselli-HernandezJocelyn (Jossi) Roselli-Hernandez, Intern
Jossi also graduated in 2014 from Downtown High School and participated in the WALC program. Jossi served as an intern with Aim High before joining Kids in Parks, helping middle school youth learn to make good choices and seize opportunities.
